About
About The JRNY Podcast
The JRNY is an Australian podcast about risk, roadblocks and resilience. Honest conversations with people who have been tested, and the practical lessons they carried out the other side.
The Mission
For the leader who feels the weight of it.
You are running a business where mistakes are expensive and the decisions never stop coming. Some weeks you feel scattered, behind, or stuck reacting to whatever landed that morning.
There is no shortage of people online telling you to hustle harder. The JRNY does something different. We sit down with real operators and go through what actually happened, what it cost them, and what they would do differently.
The aim is simple: inspire and mentor the next generation of leaders, with advice that comes from hard earned experience rather than theory.
Every guest gets the same three questions
- Risk
- The calls that could go either way. What they bet, what it cost, and how they decided.
- Roadblocks
- The walls they hit, including the ones they built themselves, and how they got past them.
- Resilience
- What actually kept them going, in practical terms, when quitting was the reasonable option.
The Philosophy
Why The JRNY exists
01
Real stories
No fluff and no vague theory. Just real experience from people who have been through it, told without the polish.
02
Practical action
Every episode lands on a clear what to do next. We bridge the gap between feeling inspired and actually doing something.
03
Disciplined growth
Growth is a choice you make daily. It is about showing up, especially on the days when it would be easier not to.

Your Host
Paul Cohalan
Paul grew up on a farm and moved out at fifteen. He served in the Navy as a marine technician until a motorbike accident ended it, retrained into mining, then left a secure job to start his own logistics and insurance business.
He asks guests about risk, roadblocks and resilience because he has had to work all three out himself. He is open about the cost of it, wary of ego, and more interested in being the person still learning than the one with all the answers.
